What Type of Support Do CSO Networks in Serbia Need?

In addition to financial, CSO networks need support for better coordination of work, strategic planning, self-evaluation, and crisis management.

This was one of the main conclusions from the Consultations with CSO Networks organised on February 19th by project ACT and Resource Center for Civil Society Organisations. The goal was to gather network represenatives and hear about their successes, challenges, and needs for more efficient networking, coordination, and ways of communicating with citizens in order to make ACT grants and the Resource Center network support programme as effective as possible.

In addition to these consultations, ACT and Resource Centre plan to conduct a desk analysis, survey and interviews with CSO network representatives and all results will be presented in a publication, which will serve as a baseline for future support programmes for CSO networks.

Planned Support for CSO Networks in 2020

In September 2020, ACT will launch the first call for submitting project proposals for advocacy and capacity building of CSO networks. A total of 20 grants of up to 25,000 EUR will be disbursed and projects’ duration should not exceed 18 months.

The Civic Initiative Resource Centre will organise numerous info sessions and trainings during 2020 for CSO network representatives with the aim of building the capacities of networks for their development and advocacy activities.
