Implementation of 15 new projects suported through ACT had been launched

A ceremony held on Friday, March 4, at the Belgrade Museum of Science and Technology marked the beginning of the implementation of 15 new projects funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) through the project “For an Active Civil Society Together – ACT “. The approved projects were the best project proposals received within the second call for projects under the grant scheme “Local Advocacy Initiatives” (LAG), which was announced on November 15 and lasted a month.

The goal of the ACT project through this grant scheme and specifically through this call is to support advocacy initiatives of civil society organizations to improve local public policies, with active involvement of citizens in all phases of the advocacy process. The goal of ACT is to strengthen civil society in Serbia through these grants for more efficient and active participation in the decision-making process and policy making through advocacy activities, as well as to mobilize the support of citizens and represent their interests in the decision-making process. Supported projects will be implemented in Smederevo, Leskovac, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Bor, Pancevo, Uzice, Kragujevac, Knjazevac, Paracin, Pirot and Leskovac.

The gathered grant winners were addressed by Melina Papageorgiou Trippolini, Head of the Democratic Governance of the Swiss Cooperation Office, Jens Engelli, ACT International Team Leader and Regional Director of Helvetas, and Bojana Selaković, Program Director of Civic Initiatives.
