Partnership Initiatives: Objectives and Values

During the recently held conference on the Program for building and strengthening capacities for grant winners for innovative partnership initiatives between civil society organizations and local self-government units, we spoke with representatives of donor and the project consortium of the ACT project. We asked Melina Papageorgiou, head of the management department of the Swiss Office for Cooperation to elaborate the importance of this grant scheme and the importance of the ACT project in the context of bilateral cooperation between Switzerland and Serbia.

Jens Engeli, international team leader of the ACT project and regional director of Helvetas for Southeast Europe, talked about the key goals of this grant scheme, its perspectives, as well as the potential value for other local governments.

We asked Maja Stojanović, Executive Director of Civic Initiatives, what are the necessary preconditions for creating an enabling environment for essential and strategic cooperation between the civil and public sector on behalf of Serbian citizens.
