ACT Project Presented During the Visit of the President of Switzerland to Serbia

We were pleased to take part in a series of important events organized during the official visit of the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, to Serbia, as well as the visit of Patricia Danzi, Director General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

One of the central events was the presentation of the new Switzerland–Serbia Cooperation Programme for the period 2026–2029, which will support the country’s key development priorities: democratic governance, economic development, climate action, and sustainable urban development.

As part of the event, Helvetas presented the ACT Project, which has been supporting civil society organizations across Serbia since 2019.

The ACT Project was presented to senior representatives of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) by Gorana Radovanović, ACT Team Leader, and Marko Rakić, Project Advisor, with the support of Maša Babić, Communications Manager.

The presentation also highlighted the project’s key achievements over the past seven years:

  • 220 civil society organizations supported;
  • More than 154,000 citizens have benefited from the project’s activities;
  • 125 advocacy initiatives implemented;
  • 50 public policy changes achieved.

The event was also attended by Matthias Herr, Helvetas Regional Director for Eastern Europe, and Snežana Mišić Mihajlović, Good Governance Portfolio Manager at Helvetas Eastern Europe.

The presentation of the ACT Project during this event once again confirmed the importance of Switzerland’s long-standing support for the development of civil society in Serbia and the project’s contribution to strengthening citizen participation in decision-making processes.
