“Let it be known that we can do it together!”
Creating a safe environment in which male and female survivors (victims) will be able to report incidents of hate crimes and discrimination, by closely monitoring and documenting such incidents, by maintaining contact with persons victims of hate crime or discrimination, and by empowering them through the provision of legal support, we have been working together for 4 years to increase the visibility of these problems, as well as to create adequate legal protection and establish positive case law.
With the support of the ACT project, Association “Da se zna!” will continue working on the monitoring and documenting hate crimes and discriminatory acts committed as consequence of homophobia and transphobia. This implies continuous responding to reports filled out on our website and consolidating information in the database, maintaining up-to-date contacts with the male and female survivors who reported such incidents, as well as organizing legal assistance in the form of providing advice, writing lawsuits, complaints, letters and the like for those persons who wish to report their case to the competent state authorities or independent institutions.
For the purpose of increasing visibility, but also in order to encourage and motivate all members of the queer community to report incidents of violence and discrimination, both to us and the authorities, we publish information about incidents on our website and social networks (when having consent), and we present a detailed analysis of the reported cases in our annual report.
