CSO statement
Ever since 1992, CWS in Belgrade, has gained valuable experience and the privilege of organizing educational programs that generations of female activists and theorists from Serbia and the region have gone through. Today, we are upgrading that experience through the organization of the Digital Feminist School, in order to make knowledge and skills available to as many people as possible. In addition to the lecture program, we achieve our goals through research and publishing, and we store and exchange feminist knowledge through the library and archives.
Brief project description for which the grant was received:
The CWS plans to use the institutional grant for reinforcing its activities. Valuable experience, gained through 28 years of organizing a lecture program on feminist theory and the women’s movement, we continue to develop and involve the next generation of feminist activists and theorists. We also continue with the production and dissemination of feminist knowledge, through the research and publishing program. At the same time, owing to the archives and the library, continuity with the history of the feminist movement is preserved.
Our programs contribute to the introduction of gender equality into the educational system, inclusion of vulnerable groups into the society, and review of public policies. A society in which male and female citizens play an active role in the decision-making is not possible without sensitivity to issues of gender equality. Apart from working with the community, this grant will also provide space to further build capacities of the Center through additional training for our female associates and organize Strategic planning.
