Community support is important for individuals and the society. Feeling of belonging, creating local community that shares values such as humanity, understanding and tolerance is our goal. Feeling that someone cares, that there is support in the community is extremely important especially for persons that are on the margins of our society whose daily lives are reduced to survival. It is important to be there for the individual and the society, to be there for each other. It is important to try to understand, instead of judging.
Civil Association Patrija, with the support of the ACT project, initiates free psychological counseling where persons that had an experience of psychiatric hospitalization will be able to get free psychological support from professional psychologists. Psychological, in addition to psychiatric, support is significant, unfortunately, within state institutions it is usually insufficient, while the users often lack financial resources to pay for this form of support.
Civil Association Patrija organizes workshops for their users where they can socialize and learn something new. In addition to workshops, users have the opportunity to make their own income by selling the Liceulice magazine, which is very important since they are often in the group of socially and financially vulnerable citizens. Fifteen psychologists and psychology students volunteer in the Association. They actively promote values the Association advocates and provide support to all the users requiring such aid.
