He obtained his PhD in journalism and mass communication from Korea University. His research explores the relationship between media and audiences in hybrid political and media environments, with a focus on media (dis)trust, cynicism, and anti-press hostility. He is currently investigating how democratic innovations and deliberative institutions can help increase media accountability and foster democracy-supporting audience\u2013media relations. His work has been featured in leading international media and communication journals.
