Right to life Mary “Emergency about emergency aid”

An initiative for the adoption of a law on emergency aid in Serbia, which would define the responsibility of both employees and citizens. Dejan Zejnula, with the help of deputies from Svrljig, introduced a bill into the parliamentary procedure.

Due to the negligence of the emergency services, he lost his wife two years ago, during the state of emergency due to the corona virus. Since his wife fell ill, Dejan called the Emergency Service, which directed them to the Health Center, although he pointed out to the doctor who called that his wife had already survived a pulmonary embolism. The conversation lasted for eight minutes, in which the doctor insisted on talking to his wife, even though she could no longer speak at that moment. In total, a full hour passed until the ambulance finally arrived. He says that his case also showed many irregularities and manipulations in the medical documentation. By the way, Serbia is the only country in the region that has neither a law nor a by-law regulating the work of emergency services, and almost 40% of the territory does not have adequate services at all. This means that more than a million citizens do not have medical help when it is most needed.”

In the words of Dejan Zejnula: “With the help of the ACT project, but also the entire ACT community, this initiative gained more visibility… Only during the month of October, 8.5 million people searched for the key words “Right to life Mary”
